Hyderabad is experiencing heavy flooding, which is causing significant inflows into the Gandipet and Himayat Sagar reservoirs.
The floodwaters are being directed into these reservoirs from the Firangi Canal and the Bulkapur Vagu.
Currently, the water level at the Himayat Sagar reservoir has reached 1,756 feet, which is just below its full capacity of 1,763.50 feet. The Gandipet (Osman Sagar) reservoir is also close to its maximum capacity, with water levels recorded at 1,782 feet, while its full capacity is 1,790 feet.
Authorities are carefully watching the situation to manage the water levels in the reservoirs. They want to ensure the safety of nearby areas.
Residents living in low-lying regions have been advised to stay alert and keep up with updates from local authorities, as the inflows are expected to continue.
