BJP MP Dr. K Laxman has observed that politics in the Telugu states is becoming increasingly complex, with similar patterns emerging in both Andhra Pradesh (AP) and Telangana.
In AP, political focus has shifted from asset distribution among former leaders to younger family members challenging their older siblings. Notably, Sharmila has criticized her brother Jagan. Similarly, in Telangana, BRS MLA K Kavitha is speaking out against her brother, MLA K.T. Rama Rao.
Dr. Laxman commented that these leaders seem to prioritize family interests over public concerns. He pointed out that this trend was evident with the YSR family before and now with the KCR family. He suggested that the Congress party has played a role in encouraging these familial disputes.
In Telangana, opposition to Congress is emerging, with Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy voicing worries about financial shortfalls. Dr. Laxman accused Congress of siding with Kavitha to distract from increasing public dissatisfaction.
He described the BRS as faltering, while the BJP is gaining national strength and influence in Telangana, which might lead to future electoral victories.
Dr. Laxman suggested that Kavitha hints at her reluctance to accept KTR's leadership. He criticized her discussions on social justice as insincere.
On a broader scale, he highlighted India’s strong economic standing, having recently become the world’s fourth-largest economy, surpassing Japan, attributing this achievement to Modi's leadership. He expressed optimism about India’s development under PM Modi.
Dr. Laxman noted that Kavitha's influence in the party seems limited, as the party is mainly concerned with survival. He doubted her significant impact on Telangana politics. Regarding BJP leadership appointments, he mentioned that state presidents have been announced for 14 states, with the remaining selections delayed due to issues from the Pahalgam incident affecting the organizational election process.
