Gadwal: Students from Kondapuram, Venkatapuram, and Irukached villages are protesting for better bus services. They face difficulties due to the lack of public transport. College students often walk long distances or depend on unreliable private vehicles.

This problem is evident on the Gadwal-Raichur highway near Kondapuram. Local leader Gajula Krishna Reddy highlighted that buses either arrive late or not at all. Even with valid bus passes, students can’t use them because TSRTC (Palle Velugu) buses are unavailable.

“This issue occurs daily. How can students pursue education under these circumstances?” he asked, reflecting the concerns of parents and students.

Villagers noted that over 10,000 to 15,000 people live in the five affected villages, yet there is no regular Palle Velugu bus service. This creates a major problem for students and residents who need public transport for education, healthcare, and shopping.

In response, students and villagers submitted a petition to the Gadwal TSRTC Depot Manager. They urged for immediate bus services during school and college hours to prevent students from missing classes or dropping out.

Villagers stressed that this is more than an inconvenience. It is a significant challenge for rural students, especially those from low-income families who can’t afford private transport.

Authorities have not yet officially responded, but students and residents plan to continue their protests if their needs aren’t addressed.
