Gadwal, Telangana – Health officials in Gadwal district carried out sudden inspections at several private hospitals and diagnostic centers. This action followed a social media complaint about bio-medical waste being dumped in the open near Krishnaveni Chowk.
The inspections were ordered by Dr. S.K. Siddappa, the District Medical and Health Officer. His team visited multiple private healthcare facilities to check if they were following legal safety and hygiene rules.
Officials looked for key documents like registration certificates, fire safety approvals, and Bio-Medical Waste (BMW) management licenses. These are required for all medical facilities under the Telangana Clinical Establishments Act, 2010, and the Bio-Medical Waste Management Rules, 2016.
Authorities made it clear that every private health service in Jogulamba Gadwal district—including hospitals, clinics, labs, diagnostic centers, dental and physiotherapy clinics—must be properly registered and follow waste disposal laws.
They warned that dumping bio-medical waste in open or public places is illegal. If any facility is caught violating these rules, they will face strict legal action.
The inspection team included Dr. Prasoon Rani, Program Officer for Maternal and Child Health, and health officials K. Madhusudhan Reddy (In-Charge Deputy DM&HO), Narasayya (Health Assistant), and other department staff.
This crackdown aims to ensure public safety and improve waste management in private medical institutions across the district.
