In Mahabubnagar, Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) officials caught Gopalpet mandal Tahasildar Srinivasulu accepting a bribe of Rs. 8,000 from a farmer for a NALA certificate. The farmer, Gopal Nayak, applied for the certificate to convert his land for a poultry farm. Srinivasulu initially asked for Rs. 15,000, but settled for Rs. 8,000 after negotiations.
Gopal Nayak sought help from ACB officials after being unable to meet the Tahasildar’s demands. A sting operation was planned and executed by Mahabubnagar ACB DSP Krishna Goud’s team. Srinivasulu was caught red-handed accepting the bribe, leading to his arrest and searches at his office and home.
The incident has raised concerns about corruption in the district administration, with officials emphasizing their commitment to combatting such practices. Srinivasulu has been charged under the Prevention of Corruption Act and taken into custody for further legal action.
