Text Size: 100%

Telangana is set to experience extremely dry weather conditions over the next six days as strong dry winds flow in from the north, according to weather reports. Humidity levels are expected to plummet to below 15 percent during afternoon hours across the state. The influx of dry continental air masses will create what meteorologists describe as super dry atmospheric conditions, affecting daily life and outdoor activities throughout the region.

The state will witness a large diurnal variation in temperatures, with significant differences between day and night readings. During daytime, temperatures are forecast to soar as high as 37 degrees Celsius in Hyderabad and touch 40 degrees Celsius in East Telangana districts. However, the same dry air mass responsible for scorching afternoons will cause night temperatures to drop considerably. Central Telangana regions may see nighttime temperatures falling to 17-18 degrees Celsius in open areas, while East Telangana is expected to record 19-20 degrees Celsius during the night.

Residents across Telangana can expect crystal clear blue skies throughout the six-day period, with no cloud cover anticipated. The absence of moisture in the atmosphere will result in excellent visibility and unobstructed sunshine during daylight hours. While daytime conditions will be uncomfortably hot, the evenings and early mornings will offer some respite with relatively cooler temperatures, particularly in areas away from urban heat islands.

The sharp contrast between day and night temperatures is a direct consequence of the dry atmospheric conditions prevailing over the region. The lack of moisture means the air cannot retain heat effectively after sunset, leading to rapid cooling during nighttime hours. Weather observers note that such conditions are typical when dry northerly winds dominate the weather pattern over the Deccan plateau during this time of year.
