Hyderabad: The Congress party is taking significant steps to strengthen its presence in Telangana by appointing ten District In-Charges for former districts. These leaders will focus on forming committees from the village to the district level. This move aims to prepare for upcoming local elections. The All India Congress Committee (AICC) has asked the Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) to suggest committee members within ten days.
The AICC has told the PCC to update all committees and fill empty Corporation positions by the end of July. This is part of their plan for the upcoming elections. They are focusing on increasing their grassroots presence and building momentum after a public meeting at L B Stadium. These committees will start at the village level and work upwards, aiming to strengthen the party and improve coordination with government officials.
On Monday, PCC President B Mahesh Kumar Goud announced the new District In-Charges across the state. This came after a virtual meeting with district leaders and senior party members. Meenakshi Natarajan, the AICC State In-Charge, also attended the meeting, emphasizing the need for quick action to build the party structure from the village to the district level.
The AICC In-Charge highlighted the importance of mobilizing at the grassroots level and urged leaders to act quickly. Committees at mandal, constituency, and district levels will soon form to boost the party’s presence in Telangana. After appointing vice-presidents and general secretaries for parliamentary areas, Mahesh Kumar Goud announced the approved joint district In-Charges. These include Challa Vamsi Chand Reddy (Khammam), Sampath Kumar (Nalgonda), Adluri Lakshman (Warangal), Ponnam Prabhakar (Medak), T Jagga Reddy (Hyderabad), Kusuma Kumar (Mahbubnagar), M Anil Yadav (Adilabad), Addanki Dayakar (Karimnagar), Azmatullah Hussaini (Nizamabad), and K Shiv Sena Reddy (Ranga Reddy).
The PCC is actively working to revive the party after recent electoral losses. The appointment of joint district In-Charges is part of a larger strategy to rebuild the Congress organization in Telangana and prepare thoroughly for future elections.
