Hyderabad: Educational institutions in Telangana have excelled in the National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) 2025. The University of Hyderabad (UoH), Osmania University, and NALSAR University of Law achieved high ranks in various categories.
UoH topped the state, ranking 18th among universities, 26th overall, 32nd in research, and 70th in engineering. The university’s dedication to research and innovation has helped it retain a strong national presence. Vice Chancellor Prof. B J Rao celebrated the success but noted the importance of ongoing improvement.
Osmania University, a historic institution, ranked 7th among state public universities, showcasing its academic excellence. This result reflects its commitment to teaching, outreach, and infrastructure.
In legal education, NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad secured the 3rd position nationally, placing it among India’s best law schools. Known for its challenging curriculum, NALSAR continues to draw top students from all over the country.
Other institutions in Telangana also performed well. The National Institute of Pharmaceutical Education and Research (NIPER) in Hyderabad ranked 5th in pharmacy, emphasizing the state’s role in pharmaceutical education. Additionally, Indian Institute of Technology Hyderabad (IIT-H) ranked 7th in engineering, reinforcing its status as a leader in technology and innovation.
The NIRF rankings, issued by the Ministry of Education, evaluate institutions based on criteria such as teaching quality, research, graduation outcomes, and inclusivity. With a 23% increase in participating institutions this year, the competition was tougher, making Telangana’s achievements notable.
