Hyderabad: The Telangana Council for Higher Education (TGCHE) is working on improving undergraduate courses, according to its Chairman and in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Jawaharlal Nehru Technological University (JNTUH), Prof. V. Balakista Reddy. On Monday, he unveiled the 2025 calendar, diary, and planner for both TGCHE and JNTUH.
During his speech to the teaching and non-teaching staff at JNTUH, Prof. Reddy introduced a new online portal for pensioners called “Administration at the Doorsteps of the Needy.” This platform will allow pensioners to report their issues online, saving them the trouble of visiting offices in person. He also shared that the pending arrears related to the pay revision for teachers from 2016 to 2019 have been released.
Additionally, Prof. Reddy addressed the concerns of non-teaching staff, outsourced employees, and contract teachers. He assured everyone that steps are being taken to resolve their challenges and improve their work conditions. “It is our responsibility to prioritize our staff. Our team is working diligently to find solutions to all challenges,” he said.
Regarding the TGCHE’s plans, Prof. Reddy announced that starting next academic year, the council is considering providing study materials to degree students. This initiative aims to help students from rural and economically disadvantaged backgrounds gain access to quality educational resources.
He also highlighted the council’s efforts to modernize undergraduate courses. Subject-specific committees have been formed to update the curriculum, ensuring that students receive relevant and improved education.
