Hyderabad: State IT Minister D Sridhar Babu opened a two-day national workshop at NALSAR University of Law in Hyderabad. The event, hosted by NALSAR and the Telangana Public Service Commission (TGPSC), focuses on legal issues and solutions for Public Service Commissions (PSCs).
Representatives from 18 State PSCs attended, including 8 Chairpersons, 13 Members, 5 Secretaries, and 17 senior officials. Dinesh Dasa from UPSC, along with Santosh Gopal Ajmera and Srikala, were also present.
The workshop’s goal is to tackle the increasing legal challenges faced by PSCs. Participants discussed court cases, legal precedents, and ways to minimize litigation through system improvements.
Sridhar Babu praised TGPSC for organizing this national workshop. It provides PSC leaders an opportunity to address legal challenges and seek unified solutions to reduce recruitment disputes.
Dr. Ajay Kumar, Chairman of UPSC, delivered the keynote speech. He highlighted the role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Large Language Models (LLMs) in digitizing PSC operations. This technology can enhance efficiency and lower recruitment conflicts.
Burra Venkatesham, Chairman of TGPSC, welcomed the IT Minister and thanked Dr. Kumar for his insights. He pointed out that while each PSC has its own challenges, this workshop offers a shared space to exchange experiences and learn from each other.
On the first day, four panel discussions covered key topics: the nature of litigation for PSCs, reasons for recruitment disputes, judicial insights, and mitigation strategies.
Further discussions will continue on Friday, addressing other crucial legal challenges.
