Hyderabad: On Friday, Jairus Ligoo, the Chief of Child Protection at UNICEF India, visited the Bharosa Centre in Hyderabad. He praised the centre’s initiatives and the cooperation between various stakeholders and the police. Ligoo mentioned that the services provided by Bharosa set an example for other countries.
He also visited the Child Friendly Court and admired its unique features. Ligoo emphasized the importance of establishing more Bharosa Centres and Child Friendly Courts in developing and underdeveloped nations to protect children. He stated, “Ensuring the safety of children and women in modern cities is a fundamental right.”
Dr. Lavanya NJP, the Deputy Commissioner of Police for Women Safety in Hyderabad, along with G Manjula, Inspector of Police, and Mary Augustine, the Centre Administrator, explained Bharosa’s services and operations. The entire Bharosa team was present during the visit.
