Russian authorities have issued an arrest warrant for US Senator Lindsey Graham after he made comments about the fighting in Ukraine. Graham had met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, where he noted that “the Russians are dying” and praised US military assistance to Ukraine. The comments were edited into a video by Zelenskyy’s office, causing outrage in Russia. The Investigative Committee has opened a criminal inquiry against Graham, and the Interior Ministry issued a warrant for his arrest. Graham is among more than 200 US members of Congress whom Moscow banned from entering Russia last year.

Graham responded on Twitter, saying that he was happy to know that his commitment to Ukraine had drawn the ire of Putin’s regime. He vowed to continue standing with Ukraine until every Russian soldier is expelled from Ukrainian territory. He also called the arrest warrant a “badge of honor.”
