Wanaparthy District: Irrigation and Civil Supplies Minister N. Uttam Kumar Reddy has directed officials to fast-track the completion of the Palamuru-Rangareddy Reservoir project.
On Thursday, the minister inspected key irrigation sites in Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy districts. His visit focused on assessing the progress at the Narlapur Reservoir and Edula Phase 2 reservoir.
Arriving by helicopter in the afternoon, he landed near the Edula Reservoir. He was greeted warmly by District Collector Adarsh Surabhi, Wanaparthy MLA Thudi Megha Reddy, and District Superintendent of Police Ravula Giridhar, who welcomed him with a bouquet.
Later, the minister was joined by Jupally Krishna Rao, Minister for Excise, Tourism, and Culture, along with Planning Commission Vice Chairman G. Chinna Reddy and Nagarkurnool MP Mallu Ravi. They were accompanied by officials from both Nagarkurnool and Wanaparthy districts.
The team, including engineers from the Irrigation Department, reviewed the progress of Edula Reservoir Phase 2. They also visited the Edula Tunnel, where the minister urged workers and engineers to speed up construction.
Irrigation SE Vijaya Bhaskar Reddy, RDO Subramaniam, and other senior department officials were present during the inspection.
Minister Uttam emphasized the importance of completing the reservoir quickly to support agriculture and ensure water supply in the region.
