Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple to Get a Major Facelift
Vemulawada: The iconic Sri Raja Rajeshwara Swamy Temple in Vemulawada is set to undergo a significant transformation. Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy laid the foundation stone on Wednesday for several development projects in the temple town, with a total investment of around ₹7,000 crore.
The Chief Minister began his day in Vemulawada by offering special prayers and performing Abhishekam at the temple. He was warmly welcomed by the temple priests with the traditional ‘Poorna Kumbha’. Following the rituals, he inaugurated development works for the temple, including a ₹76 crore project near Dharmagundam and an ‘Annadana Satram’ (free meal facility) costing ₹35.25 crore.
Development Projects for the Region
CM Revanth Reddy also conducted a Bhoomi Pooja for the construction of houses for 4,696 families displaced by the Mid Manair Project. This housing project is estimated to cost ₹235 crore. In addition, he laid the foundation stone for a ₹50 crore Yarn Depot, a ₹45 crore road connecting Moolavagu to the temple, and a ₹166 crore hostel block for the local medical college. Another ‘Annadana Satram’ worth ₹52 crore, an advanced technology center in Rudrangi Mandal, and a junior college in Medipally Mandal were also part of the announced projects.
Inaugurations and Financial Aid
The Chief Minister inaugurated a string of completed projects as well. These include the new SP office in Sircilla, constructed for ₹26 crore, a district library built for ₹45 lakh, and a working women’s hostel costing ₹4.80 crore.
Additionally, Revanth Reddy provided financial aid, handing over ₹85 lakh in cheques to the families of 17 individuals who lost their lives while working in Gulf countries.
These comprehensive development efforts are expected to significantly enhance the infrastructure and welfare in Vemulawada and surrounding areas.
