Hyderabad: The government is placing greater emphasis on improving Gurukuls, especially girls’ residential schools. As part of this initiative, women officials from All India Services (AIS) will personally inspect the hostels and even stay overnight to better understand the conditions.

These officials will prepare a report highlighting areas for improvement and submit it to the government. Chief Secretary A. Santhi Kumari, during a teleconference with officials on Thursday, directed them to facilitate visits by AIS officials to 540 girls’ residential schools.

In the first phase of the program, 29 AIS officials will visit various hostels to assess boarding and other facilities. Their reports will be used to suggest changes aimed at ensuring girl students have access to the best possible amenities.

The first phase of inspections is expected to be completed before Republic Day. After the feedback is reviewed by higher officials, additional phases will follow. In the subsequent phases, other AIS officials will visit the remaining hostels to complete the evaluation of all 540 Gurukuls.
