Hanamkonda: On Friday, MLA Yashaswini Reddy emphasized that the Indian Constitution is not just a national treasure but a global example. She said it’s the duty of every citizen to protect and uphold it.
Following the guidance of the All India Congress Committee (AICC) and Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC), she held a strategy meeting in Ramrajapalli village, located in Devaruppula mandal. The meeting launched the campaign titled “Jai Bapu, Jai Bhim, Jai Samvidhan – Constitution Protection.”
After the meeting, a padayatra (march) took place. The event was lively, with local residents, party workers, and many women participating. Traditional dances, drums, and folk music added energy to the march.
Yashaswini Reddy called on people from all backgrounds to come together in defense of the Constitution. She explained that this campaign is also a response to recent comments made in Parliament by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Those remarks, she said, disrespected Dr. B R Ambedkar, the chief architect of the Constitution, especially during its 75th anniversary.
The MLA encouraged party members to raise awareness about the government’s ongoing development and welfare programs. She stressed the importance of unity and hard work to secure a third straight win in the upcoming local body elections.
She thanked everyone who joined the padayatra, especially those who carried portraits of Mahatma Gandhi and Dr. Ambedkar, showing their commitment to constitutional values.
Key participants included Kodakandla AMC Chairman Nalla Andal Sriram, PCC Member Dr. Lakshmi Narayana, Mandal President Nalla Sriram, Youth President Venkanna, along with several block and mandal leaders, local public representatives, village branch presidents, and enthusiastic youth and women leaders.
