Hyderabad is all set for a major spiritual event – the Kaleshwaram Triveni Saraswati Pushkaralu, starting this Thursday, May 15. The event will run for 12 days, ending on May 26, and is expected to draw lakhs of devotees from across the country.
This sacred festival happens once every 12 years, when Guru (Jupiter) moves from Rishabha Rashi to Mithuna Rashi. To mark the occasion, the Telangana government has made massive preparations to ensure everything runs smoothly.
A key highlight is a 17-foot tall idol of Goddess Saraswati, placed at the Triveni Sangam Point in Mahadevpur mandal, located in Bhupalapally district. Here, the rivers Godavari, Pranahita, and the underground Saraswati (Antarvahini) meet, forming a sacred confluence similar to the one at Prayagraj.
To accommodate visitors, a 100-bed Tent City has been set up near the Sangam. Devotees can also witness the spectacular Saraswati Aarti every evening, performed by priests specially invited from Kashi (Varanasi).
Officials explain that this location is spiritually significant. When water is poured on the Muktheshwara Linga, it flows underground and joins the Godavari, symbolizing the hidden Saraswati river’s presence.
To manage the event efficiently, the government has launched a special mobile app called Saraswati Pushkaralu 2025 and a dedicated website at www.saraswatipushkaralu.com. These platforms provide all essential information for pilgrims.
A budget of ₹35 crore has been allocated for infrastructure development. This includes building bathing ghats, improving temples, and getting ready for the upcoming Godavari Pushkaralu in 2026.
Endowments Minister Konda Surekha shared that elaborate arrangements have been made for the large crowds. Special rituals like Saraswati Homam, Rudra Homam, and daily pujas will be conducted by renowned priests to enhance the spiritual experience.
She invited everyone to be part of this rare and historic celebration, emphasizing its deep cultural and religious importance.
With strong planning and spiritual fervor, the Telangana government aims to make this Pushkaralu a memorable and divine experience for all who attend.
