    Gadwal: Authorities in Narayanpet district have seized 2 quintals of fake cotton seeds in Lanka village of Narva Mandal. The operation was a joint effort by the Task Force police and Agriculture Department officials, who acted on a tip-off about the sale of low-quality seeds.

    The seeds were found stored in five bags inside a shed owned by a local resident named Kuruvu Balaraju. Officials quickly raided the shed and took the fake seeds into custody. A case has been registered against Balaraju.

    Superintendent of Police Yogesh Gautham stated that strict action will be taken against anyone selling fake or poor-quality seeds. He urged farmers to stay alert and report any suspicious activity to the authorities.

    This incident has raised concerns about the spread of counterfeit agricultural products. Such fake seeds can harm crop production, affect farmers’ income, and threaten food security. Police and agriculture officials have promised to continue their efforts to stop these illegal practices and protect farmers.
