Hyderabad, April 26: Telangana Director General of Police (DGP) Dr. Jitender announced on Friday that all Pakistani nationals currently residing in Hyderabad must leave India by April 27, following directives issued by the central government in the wake of the recent terrorist attack in Pahalgam.
According to the DGP, there are presently 208 Pakistani nationals residing in the city. All of them have had their visas cancelled with immediate effect, and have been instructed to exit the country within the given deadline.
He warned that the Attari border crossing would remain open only until April 30, urging the individuals to make necessary arrangements before the cut-off date. “Those who fail to comply with the directive will face legal consequences,” the DGP stated firmly.
However, DGP Jitender clarified that Pakistani nationals holding medical visas have been granted an extended deadline till April 29 to leave the country. In contrast, long-term visa (LTV) holders are exempted from this new rule.
These steps come as part of heightened security measures following the Pahalgam terror attack, and are being implemented based on instructions from the Union Ministry of Home Affairs.
Authorities have initiated tracking efforts to ensure compliance, and local police have been directed to monitor the movement of Pakistani nationals in the region.
