Adilabad, Telangana – Police discovered an illegal ganja (cannabis) cultivation in Salyada village, located in Echoda mandal, on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Akhil Mahajan shared the details with the media. Acting on a tip-off, police raided the area on Monday evening and found 180 fully-grown cannabis plants. The estimated market value of the seized plants is around ₹18 lakh, with each plant priced at approximately ₹10,000.
Police arrested four local residents in connection with the case. The accused are Chakati Sonerao, Durva Lavakush, Arka Janjubapu, and Durva Arun, all from the same village.
SP Mahajan said that four separate cases have been registered against the accused. He added that the police are taking strong steps to eliminate the ganja problem in the district. Special teams have been formed to track down suppliers, dealers, and users of cannabis.
The SP encouraged the public to help by sharing any information about illegal drug activities. Informants can send messages to the SP’s number at 8712659973. He assured that all information will be kept strictly confidential.
SP Mahajan praised the efforts of the police team involved in the operation. Officers including Utnoor ASP Kajal Singh, Inspector E. Bheemesh, and Sub-Inspector Tirupathi were present during the raid and investigation.
