A fire broke out in Khammam cotton market and burnt around 1500 bags of cotton. The cotton was stored in an open shed and belonged to Sri Siva Ganesh Krishna Traders. The fire was noticed by some staff members who alerted the fire tenders. Two fire tenders from Khammam and Nelakondapalli arrived on the scene and managed to control further damage. The trader claims to have lost Rs one crore, but the cotton market officials estimate the loss to be Rs 50 lakhs. The cause of the fire is still unknown.
