Itanagar/Hyderabad: On Thursday, Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Bandi Sanjay Kumar emphasized the government’s strong support for the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) during his visit to Arunachal Pradesh. He praised the bravery and dedication of the ITBP soldiers, stating that their sacrifices are deeply valued by all Indians. He assured them of the government’s commitment to ensuring their dignity and comfort.
During his trip, Bandi Sanjay first met Arunachal Pradesh Chief Minister Pema Khandu in Itanagar. He wished the Chief Minister a happy birthday and talked about the state’s development goals. Following this, he visited the ITBP headquarters, where he honored fallen soldiers at the Martyrs’ Ghat and was saluted by the troops. He also launched several projects aimed at enhancing the conditions for ITBP personnel.
These projects include the new ASI Mess (Building-45) at the 31st Battalion, housing for officers and staff at the Animal Training School in Lohitpur, an Administrative Building, an Officers Mess, a 10-bed hospital in Basar, and facilities for the 49th Battalion.
Addressing the ITBP, Bandi Sanjay called them “snow warriors” who operate in challenging conditions. He highlighted their role in safeguarding India’s borders from the cold peaks of Ladakh to the distant forests of Arunachal Pradesh. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, he assured that the government is enhancing the Central Armed Police Forces with better equipment, transport, communication, housing, medical care, and education.
He also mentioned the Himaveer Welfare Association (HWWA), which supports ITBP families by focusing on health, education, and family activities. He promised attention to the jawans’ transfers and promotions. Moreover, he acknowledged the contributions of engineers, planners, and workers involved in these projects, recognizing their service to the nation.
The event was attended by Arunachal Pradesh Home Minister Mama Natung, DGP Anand Mohan, Deputy Commissioner Visakha Yadav, Mayor Tamme Pasing, and senior officials. After the program, Bandi Sanjay returned to Itanagar and planned to visit Meghalaya the following day.
