Karimnagar – Health experts at Medicover Hospital have raised serious concerns about the dangers of high blood pressure (BP). During a special event held on World Hypertension Day, doctors warned the public not to ignore this silent but deadly condition.
The hospital organized a bike rally and an awareness session on Saturday to educate people about the risks of hypertension. Doctors spoke clearly: high BP can damage the heart, brain, and kidneys. They stressed that it can be even more dangerous than diabetes.
Doctors explained that mental stress is a major reason why more people are developing high BP. Once blood pressure rises, it rarely lowers on its own. “The only way to keep it under control is through regular medication,” they emphasized.
Medical professionals urged everyone—no matter their age—to get their blood pressure checked regularly. They advised people with high BP to make serious lifestyle changes. These include eating a balanced diet, exercising regularly, and maintaining proper nutrition.
They also recommended reducing salt intake, quitting smoking, avoiding alcohol, and working on weight loss. These steps, they said, are crucial in managing hypertension and preventing future health issues.
The awareness program was led by Medicover Centre Head Gurram Kiran. The event saw participation from several key doctors and staff, including Dr Vinay (Anaesthetist), Dr Nagaraju, Dr Lokesh (General Physicians), Dr Anish Pabba (Cardiologist), Dr Ravimal Reddy (Superintendent), along with Marketing Manager Kota Karnakar, Operations Manager Saicharan, and HR Manager Eshwar.
The team hopes their efforts will encourage more people to take blood pressure seriously and make health a priority.
