Telangana BJP chief G Kishan Reddy has filed a complaint with the Election Commission and State Electoral Officer. He claims that the police and other officials are acting in a biased manner and supporting the BRS candidates. Reddy is seeking the intervention of the EC to ensure fair and free polling.
In a letter, Reddy explained that BRS candidates and their workers are moving around all the constituencies with a group of 100 to 200 people. When BJP workers raised concerns about this, the police and officials allowed the BRS workers to attack them. Reddy alleges that the police and officials have not taken any action against the ruling party candidate and workers.
Reddy gave an example of an incident in the Janagaon assembly where the BRS candidate was accompanied by supporters. When objections were raised, the police did nothing and allowed the ruling party workers to move freely around the polling stations with their supporters. Furthermore, the ruling party workers have been threatening BJP workers with severe consequences.
The Telangana BJP chief stated that in most constituencies, the police are directly or indirectly supporting the BRS candidates and their workers. They are also using threats of false cases to intimidate BJP workers.
Reddy also mentioned an incident in the Amberpet constituency where the BRS candidate and his son were openly distributing money, but no action has been taken so far. Similar incidents from various places and constituencies have been reported, where the police are openly assisting BRS workers. Reddy is urging the EC to step in and ensure fair and free elections.
