Hyderabad: BJP Legislature Party Leader Alleti Maheshwar Reddy has expressed his strong disapproval of HYDRA Commissioner AV Ranganath for reportedly mentioning his name in public. Reddy criticized the Commissioner, saying that his work seems to be more about gaining publicity rather than delivering results. Speaking to the media on Thursday, Reddy pointed out that usually, politicians are the ones who seek more publicity with less work, but now the Commissioner appears to be competing with them.
Reddy accused the IPS officer of using interviews to build his own image. He acknowledged that raising public awareness about HYDRA through interviews is acceptable but argued that it was inappropriate for the Commissioner to specifically address him in those discussions.
Reddy further explained that as a political leader, his role is to address political and public issues. He mentioned that he had raised concerns about the encroachment of ponds in the Old City and questioned when HYDRA would take action to demolish structures belonging to Owaisi. Reddy emphasized that, as the leader of the opposition in the Legislative Assembly, it is his duty to highlight the government’s shortcomings and hold it accountable.
He also criticized Ranganath for allegedly trying to counter his political statements. Reddy insisted that the Commissioner should act impartially and take action against any illegal structures, regardless of the political affiliations of those involved. He reiterated that his main concern was when the illegal structures in Salkam Chervu, linked to Majlis leaders, would be demolished.
