A bomb threat email sent on Friday sparked alarm at Rajiv Gandhi International Airport (RGIA) in Hyderabad.
The email claimed an explosive device had been placed somewhere inside the airport. Soon after, security teams jumped into action. The Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), along with local police and bomb squads, quickly arrived and began a full-scale inspection of the airport.
Authorities carefully searched every corner of the terminal, luggage areas, and public spaces. After several hours of checking, they found nothing suspicious. Officials confirmed there was no bomb and labeled the threat a hoax.
Despite the false alarm, the incident caused temporary panic among passengers and staff. Flights continued as per schedule after security gave the all-clear.
The RGIA police have launched an investigation to track down the sender of the fake email. Authorities are treating the case seriously and aim to identify and take legal action against those responsible.
Security remains tight at the airport as a precaution.
