The Bonala Festival of Aashada Masam has kicked off at the historic Golconda Fort in Telangana. This event, rich in culture and heritage, draws many devotees who have been arriving since early Sunday to offer their prayers, creating a vibrant atmosphere.
The Golconda Bonala Festival is in full swing, with the second puja this Sunday attracting even more visitors. To manage the large crowds, the government has made special arrangements for travelers. The site is lively, featuring acrobatic shows and cultural performances by the Pothurajula.
The festival began on Thursday, the 26th, with the first offering made to Jagadambika Ammavaru at the fort. Devotees gather for prayers every Thursday and Sunday, as the celebration includes nine pujas for the goddess. The festival spans a month, wrapping up on 24th July at Golconda Fort.
Additionally, the Lashkar Bonalu Jatara, another significant cultural event in Telangana, starts today. Gutta Manohar Reddy, the temple’s executive officer, along with Suriti Rameshwar and Kameshwarlu, announced the beginning of the first phase of the Ujjain Mahakali Bonalu Jatara. State Endowment Minister Konda Surekha and District In-charge Minister Ponnam Prabhakar confirmed the start with the presentation of ornaments to the goddess. The celebrations continue with Chief Minister Revanth Reddy offering silk garments and performing puja on 13th August, followed by a divination program on 14th August at 8:30 am.
