    Vishwanath Reddy, from Karimnagar, is making waves in Telugu cinema. Known for his creative and technical skills, he recently won the Gaddar Award for Best Cinematography. This award highlights his growing importance in an industry where behind-the-scenes talent is gaining recognition.

    Vishwanath’s interest in photography began in childhood, thanks to his father’s support. This hobby turned into a lifelong passion, eventually leading him to a career in cinematography. He started capturing moments in Karimnagar and moved on to wedding photography in Hyderabad. Without formal training, he learned through experience and practice.

    In an interview with The Hans India, Vishwanath shared his dreams of becoming India’s top cinematographer. He aims to leave a legacy of stunning visuals, inspired by his love for photography. His work on the film ‘Gaami’, which took over seven years, showcases his talent. Collaborating with director Vidyadhar Kagita, he achieved a film-stock-like texture on a tight budget using innovative techniques.

    Released in 2024, ‘Gaami’ used Blackmagic Pocket 4K and 6K cameras to create beautiful visuals. Vishwanath incorporated over 750 VFX shots in Dolby Vision, displaying his expertise with modern technology. His efforts have earned him accolades like the Film Companion Gold Award and the Cinematography Magazine Award for Best Cinematography, solidifying his role as a pioneer in Telugu cinema.

    Vishwanath’s early works, such as ‘Manu’ (2018) and ‘Vara’ (2017), demonstrated his growing skills. However, it was ‘Gaami’ that brought him widespread attention. His unique ability to mix creativity with technical prowess has made him a notable figure in the industry.

    His upcoming project, ‘Premante’, directed by Navneet Sriram and featuring actors Priyadarshi and Anandhi, is expected to impact Asian cinemas significantly. As Vishwanath continues his journey, he proves that dedication and talent can turn dreams into reality.
