Hyderabad witnessed a heartbreaking tragedy when a massive fire broke out at a building in Gulzar Houz, claiming the lives of 17 people. The incident has left the city in shock and mourning.

Leaders from the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) expressed deep sorrow over the loss. KT Rama Rao, BRS Working President, said he was devastated to hear about the fire. He offered his condolences to the families of the victims and wished a speedy recovery for those injured.

Rama Rao urged the Telangana State Government to immediately provide financial help. He demanded an ex gratia of ₹25 lakh for each family that lost a loved one in the fire. He stressed that the government must ensure the injured receive the best possible medical care.

He also called for urgent improvements in fire safety measures across Hyderabad, especially in the Old City area. Rama Rao said the government should launch a thorough investigation to understand why such fires keep happening. He asked local BRS leaders to support the victims and assist in relief efforts.

Other senior BRS members, including T Harish Rao, S Niranjan Reddy, and B Vinod Kumar, also shared their grief. They criticized the government for not taking proactive steps to prevent such disasters, especially during the summer months when fire risks are higher.

The leaders questioned why repeated fire incidents continue to happen despite clear warnings and past tragedies. They urged the government to review the readiness of the Fire Department and take immediate action to prevent further loss of life.

This incident has reignited concerns over urban safety and the need for stricter enforcement of fire regulations in crowded areas like Gulzar Houz.
