Hyderabad: Key BRS figures, including party chief K Chandrashekar Rao and other leaders like KT Rama Rao, T Harish Rao, and G Jagadish Reddy, gathered at a farmhouse in Erravelli on Thursday. The meeting addressed recent political events, notably the Supreme Court’s decision on a disqualification petition concerning MLAs and a report from the PC Ghose Commission.
The meeting was crucial due to these developments in the state. Party members analyzed the commission’s report, which criticized the previous BRS government for poor maintenance of barrages and technical issues. Discussions focused on countering the government’s potential actions.
Party insiders indicated the government might bring up the report in the Assembly. In response, the BRS chief urged leaders to prepare a detailed counter-report to clarify their position in the Assembly.
The BC Bill was another key topic. Leaders plan to meet the President of India to support the bill and organize a public meeting for BCs in Karimnagar on August 8.
This marked the second meeting at KCR’s farmhouse in three days. Discussions also covered the Supreme Court’s ruling on MLAs who switched to the Congress party. In an earlier session, the BRS chief encouraged leaders and members to protest against the Banakacherla project initiated by the Andhra Pradesh government.
