Hyderabad: The BRS is planning to appoint new in-charges in areas where MLAs have left the party. Former ministers will take on extra duties to keep party members from leaving.

The main opposition party has been losing MLAs and MLCs to the ruling Congress. So far, they have lost ten MLAs. This has caused concern that more leaders and activists might leave. To address this, the party will appoint new in-charges in affected areas. These in-charges will lead party activities and protests. Former ministers will take on these roles until new leaders are found.

Sources say former minister Singireddy Niranjan Reddy, from Wanaparthy, will be responsible for Gadwal. This is because MLA B Krishnamohan Reddy left the party. P Sabita Indra Reddy has been given charge of Chevella, which she represented before. Chevella’s MLA, K Yadaiah, joined Congress. Sabita will also take care of Rajendranagar after MLA T Prakash Goud left.

Another former minister, E Dayakar Rao, will handle Station Ghanpur because MLA Kadiyam Srihari joined Congress. In Patancheru, senior leader Adarsh Reddy will be in charge. Senior leader T Harish Rao will have additional duties here since MLA Gudem Mahipal Reddy left. Sindhu Adarsh Reddy, a corporator, is considered a possible alternative for the constituency.

BRS leaders Harish Rao and KTR have visited these constituencies and informed local leaders about the new in-charges. They are telling activists to stay with the party and not follow the MLAs who left. Harish Rao recently visited Patancheru and said the party aims to defeat the turncoat MLAs in upcoming by-elections.
