Hyderabad: The CM Revanth Reddy urged all Telugu people to unite in backing INDI bloc’s vice-presidential nominee, Justice Sudarshan Reddy.

He appealed to leaders of Telugu political parties, including Chandrababu Naidu, Pawan Kalyan, YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, K Chandrashekhar Rao, and Asaduddin Owaisi, along with 42 MPs and 18 Rajya Sabha members from the region, to offer their support.

During a media interaction in the city, Revanth Reddy emphasized the national opportunity for Telugu people, highlighting the potential to elevate Telugus’ prestige if Sudarshan Reddy wins.

Revanth pointed out that Telugu is the second most spoken language in India and argued that it should be represented at the highest levels. He believes a knowledgeable person, skilled in law and the constitution, should hold the vice-presidential position.

The CM recalled notable Telugu leaders like Neelam Sanjeeva Reddy, V V Giri, PV Narasimha Rao, Jaipal Reddy, Venkaiah Naidu, and NT Rama Rao, who made significant national contributions. He noted that leaders of such caliber are rare, marking this as a chance for Telugus to demonstrate resilience.

Justice Sudarshan Reddy respects the INDI bloc’s principles and joined the election, according to Revanth. He also mentioned that the NDA alliance faces stiff competition from Sudarshan Reddy, leading to unfounded accusations against him.

Revanth accused the NDA of intending to alter the Constitution and eliminate reservations, contrasting it with the INDI Alliance’s commitment to safeguard them. He expressed surprise at the resignation of former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, suggesting the nation is still puzzled by his decision.

Revanth criticized claims labeling Justice Sudarshan Reddy as a Naxalite, asserting that Naxalism must be philosophically addressed, not eradicated by force.

In response to Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s accusations of supporting ‘Naxalism,’ Sudarshan Reddy advised reading the Supreme Court judgment. He stated, “It’s a Supreme Court judgement. I authored it, and since then, 11 judges have reviewed it without altering even a comma.”
