Employees Demand Immediate Release of Pending Salaries

The 104 Employees’ Association, affiliated with CITU, has urged the government to immediately release pending salaries for employees under the 104 Health Department programme. On Saturday, District President Beechupalli submitted a memorandum to the District Collector at the office in Gadwal, requesting the release of salary arrears.

Employees have not received their salaries for six months, up to October 2024, leading to growing frustration and hardship. Despite multiple protests, the government issued G.O. Rt. No. 706 on December 4, announcing the release of funds. However, even after this announcement, the pending payments have not been made, causing severe distress among employees.

The association expressed its dissatisfaction with the government’s negligence. They highlighted the struggles faced by employees and their families, who are grappling with financial difficulties due to the prolonged salary delays. Adding to their concerns, employees criticized the administration for assigning additional work while failing to address payment delays.

Job security was another major concern raised by the employees. They pointed out that the government had earlier assured them of adjustments to Director of Medical Education (DME) institutes in their respective districts. However, no official orders have been issued to implement this decision, leaving employees uncertain about their future.

The association also noted that earlier protests had resulted in government promises to transfer employees to DME-affiliated hospitals within their home districts. Unfortunately, no action has been taken to fulfill these promises, further eroding trust among the workforce.

In their appeal, the association demanded the immediate release of Rs 12.56 crores, which is pending across the state for 104 employees. They warned that if their demands are not met soon, large-scale protests will be organized under the leadership of CITU to press for their rights.
