In Hyderabad, slow desilting of stormwater drains is causing sewage water to overflow into lanes, worsened by recent rains. Some locals claim desilting works were not done properly, with silt mixing back into drain water due to rain.

Residents are worried about neglected areas facing inundation issues, improper debris disposal, and drainage clogs causing inconvenience. They fear a repeat of 2020 floods with heavy downpours. Affected areas include Nampally, Red Hills, Shaikpet, Tolichowki, and more.

Locals criticize HMWSSB workers for incomplete desilting, leading to sewage overflow, foul smells, waterlogging, and mosquito problems. Despite complaints to authorities, no action has been taken to address the issues.
