Hyderabad: Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy announced that the government will release notifications for 35,000 new jobs within the next two to three months. He also warned that permissions for engineering colleges would be canceled if they fail to maintain basic educational standards.
Speaking at the launch of the BFSI (Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance) skill development training program in 38 colleges on Wednesday, the CM stressed the importance of addressing unemployment. He mentioned that within three months of coming to power, job offer letters were issued to 30,000 candidates. The government is now working to fill another 35,000 vacancies, including positions in DSC, Group 1, Group 2, Group 3, and other categories. This process is expected to be completed within the next two to three months.
The Chief Minister also expressed concern over the increasing drug use among youth, particularly among engineering students, some of whom have been caught as drug peddlers. He urged students and parents to help the government in its efforts to eradicate drugs and ganja from the community. To address this issue, the government has introduced skill development training programs to keep youth engaged and away from harmful activities.
Revanth Reddy criticized certain engineering colleges for not maintaining sufficient standards in providing job-related skills. He pointed out that some colleges operate without proper teachers or facilities, and warned that such institutions would lose their permissions if they don’t improve.
The CM further explained that the government is taking proactive steps to address unemployment. Over the past decade, many young people in the state have struggled to find employment. Currently, around 30 lakh (3 million) job seekers are registered on the TSPSC (Telangana State Public Service Commission) website, and about 50 lakh (5 million) individuals are unemployed in the state.
Revanth Reddy reassured the public that his government is committed to creating employment opportunities for the youth. In addition to filling government positions, the administration is focusing on providing job security through skill development training that aligns with industry needs.
As part of these efforts, the government has collaborated with BFSI representatives to launch a training program aimed at preparing 10,000 students for jobs by the time they graduate. These students will be eligible for roles in the banking, financial services, and insurance sectors.
