Gadwal: District Collector B.M. Santosh has instructed officials to ensure that sand and soil are readily available for building Indiramma houses. He gave these instructions during a District Sand Committee meeting at the IDOC Conference Hall on Friday.
In the meeting, the Collector discussed with the committee how to supply the sand and soil needed for the housing project. He highlighted that, following government rules, each Indiramma housing beneficiary should receive eight tractor loads of sand and eight loads of soil to help complete construction on time.
He noted that sand should cost ₹100 per tractor load and soil ₹400. Beneficiaries need to apply through their Tahsildars, and applications will be carefully checked and approved.
The Collector emphasized that sand excavation and delivery must be transparent and follow government guidelines. He instructed officials to regulate the supply system and ensure each tractor load is recorded. Accurate data maintenance is crucial for accountability.
He reaffirmed the government’s dedication to supplying essential materials like sand and soil at reduced rates and encouraged beneficiaries to use these resources to finish building their homes quickly.
Attendees at the meeting included Additional Collector Lakshmi Narayana, A.D. Mines Venkata Ramana, DPO Nagendram, Irrigation Executive Engineer Srinivas, Mission Bhagiratha EE Sridhar Reddy, Groundwater Department Officer Mohan Rao, Horticulture Officer Akbar, and Mineral Development Corporation Project Officer Srikanth.
This initiative aims to speed up the Indiramma housing scheme, aiding low-income families in achieving their homeownership dreams.
