Gadwal: The CPM has urged the central government to pass a law in Parliament ensuring 42% reservations for Backward Classes. They want this reservation included in the Ninth Schedule of the Constitution for protection.

During a protest at the YSR statue in Darur mandal, CPM district committee member Uppair Narasimha criticized the BJP-led government. He claimed they are intentionally delaying the BC Reservation Bill, which was approved by the Telangana Assembly. Narasimha accused the BJP of diverting attention by focusing on Muslim reservations to mislead the public. He warned that without constitutional security, BCs would remain reliant on upper-caste landlords and capitalists, with legislatures dominated by the elite. He urged BCs to come together against “landlord-dominated parties” that see them only as a vote bank.
