Cyberabad Police Chief Calls for Swift Action on Crimes Against Women and Children

The Cyberabad Police Commissioner, Avinash Mohanty, has stressed the importance of taking prompt action in cases involving crimes against women and children. He advocated for the use of the Preventive Detention (PD) Act against repeat offenders and urged officers to resolve long-pending cases quickly and efficiently.

On Thursday, the Commissioner held a crime review meeting at the Balanagar DCP Office conference hall. The meeting was attended by police officials from the Balanagar Zone. During the review, the Commissioner examined the status of various cases in the zone, particularly focusing on resolving pending cases and speeding up investigations. He also emphasized the need to address Section 174 cases promptly and strengthen coordination with judicial officers to secure charge sheet numbers for active trials.

Special attention was given to kidnapping cases, where the Commissioner urged officers to ensure timely interventions to deliver justice. He also reviewed strategies to clear Non-Bailable Warrants (NBWs) and discussed measures to resolve missing persons cases, especially those involving women and children.

The Commissioner highlighted the importance of public awareness campaigns to combat cybercrimes and prevent fraud. The meeting also covered the enforcement of laws such as the POCSO Act and strategies to tackle rowdy behavior and property-related crimes. Officers were directed to improve conviction rates in cases involving forgery, robbery, and narcotics (NDPS Act violations).

Additionally, the Commissioner urged officers to avoid delays in investigations and arrests while addressing any gaps in case handling. He encouraged the public to install CCTV cameras, which can serve as critical evidence in court proceedings and help ensure convictions in criminal cases.
