Hyderabad: In an important operation, the Cyberabad Special Operations Team (SOT) from Madhapur, working with the Petbasheerabad Police, successfully stopped a drug trafficking operation involving Ganja chocolates transported from Punjab to Hyderabad. The authorities arrested a 55-year-old man named Tamk Issar Singh and seized 64 packets of Ganja chocolates weighing around 12.7 kilograms, along with 80 grams of dry ganja. The total value of the seized substances is estimated to be Rs. 1,05,900.
The bust happened after the police received reliable information, which led them to the Suchitra X Road Auto Stand. There, Singh was caught while allegedly distributing the illegal chocolates. Reports say that Singh got the Ganja chocolates from an unidentified source in Anandpur Sahib, Punjab, and was selling them for Rs. 40 per packet. His main customers were construction workers.
Singh moved to Gajularamaram about 10 years ago and initially started making household items. However, he had been involved in two other cases related to drugs before this, showing a troubling pattern of illegal activities. During questioning, Singh revealed that he had turned to drug trafficking because of financial difficulties caused by his personal issues.
The police seized a total of 12,680 grams of Ganja chocolates, which amounts to 2,560 individual chocolates, along with a mobile phone. Senior police officers, including Koti Reddy, DCP Medchal Zone, and D. Srinivas, DCP SOT Cyberabad, praised the successful operation and announced rewards for the teams involved.
Authorities are urging the public to report any information about drug trafficking. They assure that all reports will be kept confidential.
