Dattatreya says doctors deserve recognition for their work

Hyderabad: Bandaru Dattatreya, former Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana, highlighted the need to support doctors dedicated to serving the community. After listening to Prime Minister Narendra Modi‘s Mann Ki Baat program, he attended a “Free Cancer Screening and Mega Health Camp.” This event, held by the Dr. Shobha Memorial Charitable Trust and the Telangana PPS Medical Department on Sunday, took place at the Hari Kishan Eye Care & Laser Center in Bagh Lingampalli. The focus was on screening for cervical, breast, and oral cancers, as well as checking eye health, retina issues, glaucoma, ENT, diabetes, and general medicine.

Dattatreya praised the organization of this free health camp and urged people to undergo regular cancer screenings. R. Krishnaiah, a Rajya Sabha member, encouraged doctors to offer medications at affordable prices, especially for those in need. He commented on the daily advancements in the medical field. Malka Komaraiah, a Legislative Council member, called on doctors to organize similar health camps in more locations.

TPPS State President Vishnu Murthy asked politicians and the public to back selfless medical professionals. Dr. Samatha, General Secretary of the BJP Mahila Morcha, promised to consider the suggestions made and work towards setting up more free screening centers in different areas. She expressed gratitude to the doctors and contributors involved in the event.
