Hyderabad: On Wednesday, at 3 pm, a building collapse scenario was simulated as part of a disaster management exercise by the TGICCC. This mock drill aimed to test the readiness and coordination of emergency services during a crisis. Different departments worked together to improve their response strategies.
An officer reported the mock incident from the Book ‘N’ More Library and Activity Centre in Secunderabad. The call mentioned two deaths and 15 injuries. The alert was quickly sent to various department control rooms for action.
Within 10-15 minutes, 108 Ambulances and police teams arrived. They secured the area and managed traffic, allowing rescue teams to operate smoothly.
DRF, NDRF, SDRF, and other emergency services reached the site within 20-30 minutes. They participated actively in rescue operations under the guidance of senior officials. TGiCCC and MAOC officers observed and recorded the exercise to ensure effective management.
After the drill, a review meeting took place in the War Room. Departments assessed their performance, noting strengths and areas needing improvement. Regular drills were proposed to boost disaster readiness.
The TGICCC compiled a detailed report with photos and videos. This information will help refine procedures and training for better emergency responses across the state.
