Gadwal: On Thursday, District Additional Collector Narsinga Rao visited several rural development sites to check the progress of projects under the Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Guarantee Scheme (MGNREGS). The main goal of his visit was to make sure that these works are moving forward on time and benefiting local communities.
In Manavapad mandal, he inspected the road construction between Manavapad and Chandapur. He stressed how important this road is for farmers and villagers, as it will improve transportation in the area. He asked officials to speed up the work and maintain high-quality standards so that the road can be completed soon.
Later, he went to Ryalamladu village in Alampur mandal to check on the construction of cattle sheds and nursery development. He told the staff to stick to the deadlines and make sure the plants in the nurseries grow to at least one meter in height by June. He also reminded them to protect and care for the plants properly.
The Additional Collector then made a surprise visit to the Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya (KGBV) in Alampur. There, he had lunch with the students and spoke with them. He encouraged the teachers to continue working hard to ensure a better future for the children.
Later in the day, he held a review meeting at the MPDO office to discuss how to provide more work opportunities under MGNREGS. He asked officials to make sure laborers get regular employment. He also stressed the need for creating village-level plans and running awareness programs to involve more workers.
He directed field assistants to ensure at least 100 workers are present at each village worksite. Considering the summer heat, he told departments to provide drinking water, ORS packets, and basic facilities at work locations to keep laborers safe and productive.
The meeting and inspections were attended by MPDOs Padmavati and Bhaskar, KGBV Principal Krishnaveni, Assistant Project Officers (APOs), Panchayat Secretaries, Field Assistants, and Technical Assistants.
This visit shows the district administration’s commitment to improving life in rural areas by building better infrastructure, providing steady employment, and supporting education for children.
