    Bhadradri Kothagudem: Collector Jitesh V. Dr. Wawa, a member of the National Commission for Safari Karma Chari, visited the district. During the visit, Wawa met with various leaders and representatives of associations working for the welfare of officials and sanitation workers. The meeting took place at the IDOC office on Monday and was attended by Collector Jitesh V. Patil, SP Rohit Raj, and ITDA PO Rahul.

    Wawa emphasized the importance of providing financial assistance and bank loans to sanitation workers through government schemes. He also suggested organizing medical camps every three months and providing medical services to them. Special measures should be taken to ensure the safety of cleaning workers in underground drains, and steps should be taken to increase their salaries while strictly enforcing laws regarding minimum wages.

    The collector stated that efforts are being made to improve the welfare of cleaning workers. Plans are in place to conduct medical examinations for them four times a year, as well as to establish sub-committees in all mandals for their welfare. Housing is also being provided to deserving individuals. Bhupathi Apparao, a member of the Vigilance and Monitoring Committee, stressed the need to address the issues faced by septic tank cleaning workers and implement welfare schemes such as ESI and PF.
