Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP Etala Rajender met with Revenue Minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy at the Secretariat to discuss urgent concerns affecting the state’s residents. They focused on the double bedroom housing scheme and agricultural inputs. After their meeting on Sunday, Rajender spoke to the media, stressing the importance of transparent governance and quick solutions to public issues.
He pointed out the struggles faced by beneficiaries in the Malkajgiri area, criticizing the poor allocation and infrastructure of the double bedroom houses. “The houses are located far away as if they were discarded. There are no basic amenities like electricity, roads, drainage, or lifts,” he stated. Rajender demanded that these issues be resolved within two months and insisted that only officially allotted individuals should receive homes.
Rajender also expressed concerns about the lack of consultation with local representatives during the housing allocation. He provided a list of genuinely needy individuals who own land but lack homes, urging the government to prioritize them. “Transparency is crucial. If houses are built where slum dwellers currently live, their livelihoods will not be affected,” he said.
Additionally, the MP highlighted the issue of completed houses in Huzurabad that have not been allocated. The infrastructure there is incomplete, and the buildings are deteriorating. He called for immediate action to prevent further damage and ensure timely allotment.
