Hyderabad: Malkajgiri MP Eatala Rajender said that the BJP holds the second-highest number of local body votes in the Greater Hyderabad area, right after the MIM. He added that the TRS is in third place and Congress is in fourth.
Speaking at a meeting to prepare for the upcoming Hyderabad local body MLC elections on Friday, Rajender said that everyone had voted correctly during the mock polling. He urged them to vote the same way in the real election happening tomorrow.
He stated, “Tomorrow will show where each party truly stands. Do you want the country to move forward with development? Or do you want it to be divided? The choice will become clear.”
Rajender asked corporators in Hyderabad to vote with honesty and follow their conscience. He said, “True change comes from those who act with integrity. If people talk about change, they must also prove it through their actions.”
He criticized Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy’s government, saying that people have already lost trust in it. He also mentioned that the National Herald case is not a new issue.
Rajender questioned those who say all are equal before the law but still reject legal judgments. “If they believe in the law, why don’t they respect its decisions?” he asked.
He pointed out that the public is watching Congress’s protests and their use of inappropriate language. He warned that people will remember this behavior and hold them responsible.
Rajender remembered that KCR had once used similar language and later faced the consequences. He said that Revanth Reddy is now doing the same. “This kind of talking may excite your supporters, but it harms democracy,” he said.
Speaking about his long-time colleague Kishan Reddy, Rajender said that he has never personally attacked him. Instead, Reddy speaks about issues and ideas, not individuals. “A civilized society does not accept personal attacks,” Rajender said.
He warned that Congress will face the consequences of its current behavior. “Even during tough times, we stayed calm and respectful. In the assembly and outside, we always spoke with dignity and never used bad language,” he concluded.
