Sircilla: The Principal Secretary of the Endowments Department, Shailaja Ramiyer, said that the government will take steps to improve the Vemulawada Temple so that devotees have a better experience without any problems.
On her visit to the Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple, Shailaja was joined by Government Whip Adi Srinivas, Endowment Commissioner Sridhar, and District Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha. They offered prayers at the temple and spoke with the media afterward.
Shailaja shared that Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has approved Rs 38 crore for the temple’s development. The temple will be reconstructed in line with Agama Shastra and Vastu guidelines. Adi Srinivas added that the government has also sanctioned Rs 76 crore for the overall development of the Vemulawada Rajarajeshwara Swamy Temple, which is also called Dakshina Kashi, and Rs 35 crore for the Annadana Satram, which provides free meals to devotees.
Additionally, Rs 47 crore has been approved for widening roads around the temple to support both temple and urban development. The renovation work is expected to begin in June, once permission is received from the Sringeri Peetham.
During their visit, the officials inspected the Bhimeshwara Temple and looked at areas where devotees offer prayers. They also discussed improvements to facilities like the Kalyana Mandapam, Abhishekam Mandapam, Kode Kattu, and queue lines.
The meeting was attended by several key officials, including architect Satyanarayana, temple EO Vinod, engineers Rajesh, Raghu Nandan, and others from the Roads and Buildings Department. Chief Priest Umesh Sharma and other priests also took part in the discussions.
