In Wanaparthy district, government lands are not being properly protected. Many of these lands are being illegally taken over by land grabbers due to the negligence of officials. While some areas have seen action taken after complaints from the public, other areas continue to face issues. The district has a lot of hills, ponds, and forests, which has made it easier for land grabbers to take advantage of the situation.

Since the formation of Telangana state, the value of land has increased, especially after the creation of new districts. However, in Wanaparthy district, many government lands were not returned to their rightful status. This has led to widespread encroachment, with land grabbers taking over government lands. Some have even set up illegal ventures, selling plots of land without proper permits, and deceiving innocent buyers.

In the past, there have been cases where people were displaced when the government identified encroached lands and removed illegal ventures to make way for public constructions. Unfortunately, some land grabbers have also sold plots using fake documents, leading to further issues. In some cases, officials from the registration department were even attacked over these land disputes.

One area of concern is Srinivasapuram village in Wanaparthy mandal, where a large number of government lands have been encroached upon. Many farmers with nearby private lands have extended their boundaries into government land. Although the Dharani website was introduced to register land records online, some government lands were still not properly recorded and remained in the possession of encroachers.

There are also allegations that lands in specific survey numbers, such as 200 and 201 near Jangalagutta in Srinivasapuram, and survey number 55 near Wanaparthy, have been illegally taken over. Some people have suggested that the government should reclaim these lands and use them for public purposes.

The situation is further complicated by the involvement of officials who are influenced by political connections. As a result, many people are losing large sums of money by falling victim to these illegal land deals. There is a growing demand from the public for the authorities to take action, identify the government lands, and implement special measures to protect them.
