In Hyderabad, Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka Mallu stressed the need for construction materials like cement, steel, bricks, and sand to be easily accessible to the public for the Indiramma houses project. He suggested forming committees at the mandal level to set prices. On Monday, a meeting took place at Dr. B.R. Ambedkar Secretariat, with ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Duddilla Sridhar Babu attending.
The ministers reviewed the progress from previous decisions. One major decision was to ensure sand availability statewide. Officials reported the establishment of 20 sand sale centers. The sub-committee urged more centers in market yards and government lands for better access. They also discussed speeding up the processing of Layout Regularization Scheme (LRS) applications.
Officials proposed increasing basic land values in Sub-Registrar offices to attract more applicants. The meeting also considered enabling tribals to manage sand quarries in agency areas directly, without intermediaries. The Deputy Chief Minister directed officials to find ways to boost revenue without adding extra taxes.
He instructed the Chief Secretary to review the sub-committee’s decisions daily and urged departments to make visible progress. He told officials to contact him directly if they face hurdles, ensuring quick file movements.
