Former Task Force DCP P Radha Kishan Rao was granted seven-day custody by the Nampally Court for an investigation into a phone tapping case. He was arrested by the Punjagutta police last week and four other police officials have also been arrested in connection with the case.

According to the police, a special team was formed during a previous regime and money was allegedly supplied to a political party by threatening task force staff. Vehicles were also provided to the task force team. The money was said to be transferred to MLC Venkat Ram Reddy, who is a childhood friend of Radha Kishan Rao. Inspectors from 2023 revealed that the staff played a key role in seizing money from opposition parties.
