    Awareness Program on Laws and Self-Defense Held for Girls in Wanaparthy

    Wanaparthy District: Senior Civil Judge and District Legal Services Authority Secretary, V Rajani, emphasized the importance of self-defense education for girls and women. She encouraged them to face societal challenges bravely and protect themselves from attacks.

    On Monday, an awareness seminar was held at Nee Girls Zilla Parishad High School and Kasturba Gandhi Girls Vidyalaya in Killa Ganapuram Mandal. The event was organized by the District Legal Services Authority and aimed at educating students about various laws. Judge Rajani attended the seminar as the chief guest and spoke about the role of the District Legal Services Authority in spreading legal awareness.

    During the seminar, she explained important laws such as the Child Marriage Act, POCSO Act, Motor Vehicle Act, and Child Labor Act. She also warned students about online safety, advising them not to click on unknown links while playing video games on mobile phones, as cybercriminals could use these links to steal money from their parents’ bank accounts.

    Judge Rajani informed students that they could call the toll-free number 15100 for free legal advice. She also appreciated the self-defense demonstrations and dance performances by the girls, which were part of the event.

    Many officials and teachers participated in the program, including Sakhi Legal Council member D Krishnaiah, Para Legal Volunteer Ahmed, and Principal Munawar Sultana. Self-defense instructors Shekhar, Varun, and Shiva also contributed to the training sessions.
